Joseph Rodriguez

Co-Owner · Lab Technician & Custom Design

Joseph does it all. He runs the lab bench and every impression that comes through the door gets poured, trimmed, pressed, finished, and hand-detailed by him. He handles the fittings, the team orders, and the custom artwork that makes each guard yours. His obsession is fit, a guard that stays locked in when the pressure comes, breathes when you're gassed, and holds up round after round. If it doesn't seat perfectly, it doesn't leave the lab.

Stephanie is the vision behind The Grit Lab and the engine that keeps it running. She sets the direction of the brand, decides where we grow next, and builds the systems behind scheduling, gym partnerships, and turnaround times. If the lab moves fast and nothing slips through the cracks, that's her work.

Our Story

The Grit Lab started the way most good things in a fight gym start, out of frustration. Joseph watched teammates spit out warped boil-and-bite guards mid-round, tape them back together, and keep sparring with gear that wasn't protecting anything.

So he learned the craft: dental-grade impressions, pressure-formed multi-layer laminates, and finishing work done one guard at a time. Stephanie built everything around it, the fittings, the artwork, the team programs, and turned a garage project into a real Clovis lab.

Today we operate out of 325 Clovis Ave #107, serving Clovis, Fresno, Madera, Visalia, Hanford, and the rest of the Central Valley. Every guard is still made here. Every guard still gets checked by one of us before it ships.
